Founder advice,
pay as you go.
Straight answers from a founder who's still doing it, not one who did it 20 years ago. No retainer, no contract, no commitment. Book an hour when you need one.
If the call wasn't worth it, I refund you before we hang up.
At the end of every call I ask one question: was that worth it? If your answer is no, you get your money back there and then.
Who I am
I founded DrinkWell, a marketplace I've scaled alongside multiple brands across beer, wine and spirits.
I've also helped businesses in all kinds of categories scale as a consultant, across marketing, sales, finance, operations and efficiency.
I've made every mistake a founder is likely to make. I've seen the highs and the lows, the challenges and the successes, and I know exactly what it takes. Unlike most consultants, I'm not talking from memory. I'm still doing it every day.
I want to help founders make fewer mistakes than I did, and get where they're going faster.
You can have the best advice in the world, but if you can't execute it, it's worthless. Tom Bell
What founders actually need
Every founder wants more success and more freedom while they chase their North Star. What most don't have is time, spare cash, or room for another long-term commitment.
Short, sharp answers
Not hours of advice you'll never have time to act on.
Help across everything
Marketing one week, a supplier or a cash crunch the next.
No big commitment
Dip in and out as you need to.
Proof it's worth it
Value you can see, or your money back.
Why I don't do consultancy the usual way
I've spent tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of pounds on consultants. Most of it gave me little to no value.
Standard consultancy means big monthly retainers on long contracts, with no clear view of whether it's working. So I built the format I'd have wanted: short, focused time that gives you as much as possible for as little commitment as possible.
| Standard consultancy | Working with me |
|---|---|
| Monthly retainers | Pay as you go, per call |
| Long-term contracts | No contract, dip in and out |
| Hours and hours of advice | One focused hour you can act on |
| No sight of outcomes | Refund before we hang up if it wasn't worth it |
| Did it years ago | Doing it day to day |
Two ways to book
Pick based on how much time you have and how much you want to cover. No packages, no upsells.
Power Hour
- One problem or decision, worked through properly
- You leave with clear next steps
- Best for a specific question: pricing, a listing, a supplier, a raise
Deep Dive
- Send your deck and numbers beforehand and I'll review them first
- We work through the whole business, not just one problem
- Best when you need a reset or a plan for the next stage
Payment is taken when you book. Both come with my promise. See the terms.
Worth it, or your money back.
At the end of every call I'll ask whether it was worth it. If you say no, I refund you in full before we hang up. No forms, no chasing.
I'd rather lose a fee than take money for advice that didn't help. That's the whole point of doing it this way.

Questions
Can I ask you something before I book?
Of course. Email me at tom@tbadvisory.uk or send me a DM on LinkedIn and I'll get back to you.
Who is this for?
Founders who want experienced, practical advice without a long-term commitment. My deepest experience is in consumer brands and drinks, but I've helped businesses across many categories.
How does the refund actually work?
Before we finish, I ask if the call was worth it. If you say no, I refund the full amount to the card you paid with while we're still on the call. Card refunds usually show within 5 to 10 working days.
Why do I have to pay before the call?
It secures your slot and means we spend the whole call on your business. Because I refund on the spot if it wasn't worth it, you're never out of pocket for a call that didn't help.
Can I book more than once?
As often as you like. Book when you need me, skip it when you don't.
Is what I tell you confidential?
Yes. I don't share anything you tell me. I also don't advise businesses that compete directly with ones I'm involved in. If that applies to you, I'll tell you and refund you before the call.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
You can move your call once, free, with 24 hours' notice. Cancel with more than 24 hours' notice and I'll refund you in full. The terms have the detail.
